There is no guest rating, no review count and no price on a single row of this table, because no openly licensed source publishes them for the UAE. This page can tell you where the overlooked places are. It cannot tell you they are good.
How complete is it. Unknown, and that is the honest answer. The UAE publishes no machine readable hotel register, so there is no total to compare against. Dubai holds 965 of the 1,896 records and Umm Al Quwain holds 19, which is far more likely a gap in the map than a fact about the country. Outside Dubai, the part of this table you would actually travel to, there are 356 ranked rows.
What the score is. A heuristic, worth exactly the six reasons printed on each row. Distance to the next bed, 30 points. A mountain or a beach nearby, 20. How many separate people have corroborated the record, 20. No chain brand on it, 15. Room count when it is known, 10. Distance from Dubai, 5. The highest score in the file is 70 out of 100, because two of those six inputs are almost entirely missing. Open any row, read the reasons, disagree with them.
What is set aside. 878 of the 1,896 records are not ranked. 192 have no name at all, 188 are unit codes (185 of them buildings in one labour compound), 56 read as worker accommodation, and 442 carry nothing on the record saying they are a place to stay. They are all still here at the bottom with their reason attached, and that last filter is harder on Arabic names than on English ones.
The star column is on 167 of the 1,018 ranked rows. It is what a map contributor typed. It is not the UAE official classification, which exists and is not published.
Two rows in the current top ten are wrong and are still shown. Rank 9, "Lebanon", is an island in The World tagged as a hotel. Rank 8, Jebel Ali Beach Hotel, is a JA Resorts property that scored full points for carrying no chain brand. They are named here rather than quietly deleted, because the same class of error is certainly present further down where nobody has looked.
Anyone who edits OpenStreetMap can invent a hotel and put it near the top of this table. A cap keeps a record that nobody has ever confirmed out of the leading rows, and adding a Wikidata entry defeats that cap. Treat a high score as a place worth ten minutes of your own checking. It is not a recommendation.
